Here's what's on my radar:

Floigan Brothers (DC)- Game should have been so much better. Full of bugs and you can beat it in 3 hours. Seriously.

Dead or Alive 2 (DC) and 3 (Xbox)- I'm not a big fighting game guy but these are easy to get into and are a blast to play with friends. Bree always beats my ass, though.

Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox)- Wow. What a game. May be the best on-rail shooter I've ever played (not like there's many). Sega really nailed this one.

I've been playing the new Spider-Man game, 'Web Of Shadows'. It's pretty much on par with the past free roaming 'Spidey' games. Here, they made the combat more fun, and the 'bullet time' like web attack is a really nice addition. If your into Spidey, and have enjoyed the previous games, this game definitely worth a look. (Plus, your not delivering pizzas in this one.)

Been playing a ton of Dreamcast.

Under Defeat- Bad-ass helicopter shmup. You release the fire button to rotate your heli. Outstanding graphics. You wouldn't believe this is a DC game. Trees sway with the explosions(awesome!), the sound and music are top notch, and the challenge is perfect. I'm in love. Highly recommended!

Godzilla Generations- No camera control. That's right. It's a game that lets you demolish Tokyo... but doesn't let you SEE you demolish Tokyo. Ugh! It could have been decent. As an extra, the game has a ton of old Godzilla movie trailers to watch.

Seaman- Never got to try this out back in the day. Leonard FREAKIN' Nimoy is in this! Not the kind of game you "play" for more than a few minutes. You check in on the game twice a day or to feed the little bastards or to get them to learn new words. The little shits wouldn't talk to me, but Bree fed them yesterday and they love talking to her. Sexist Seamen!!!

Suikoden II (PSX) - At the recommendation of a friend I started on the Suikoden series. I played the first a couple months ago and loved it, and so far I'm loving the sequel even more. Unfortunately I played this immediately after beating the first one and I've sort of fallen out of my RPG mode (I need to be in the right kind of mood to play these games) so I haven't played it in a while. I'll have to pick it up again before I start forgetting what was going on lol.

NBA2K9 (X360) - It's a basketball game. And it's fun. Yep.

I tried one of the PSX Suikoden games a long time ago. I couldn't get into it. I liked the art style. I'm like you, I don't play RPG's much these days. I finished Grandia 2 on the Dreamcast not to far back.

As for NBA2K9? I'm rocking 2K6 on my XBOX. Seriously one of the best basketball games ever. 2K Sports knows their basketball.

Ya know, we never got to review that game in Season 1. Something to think about for a future review, if you're up for it.

They sure do. This is actually my first basketball game since I played the original 2K game on the Dreamcast. Laughing SO MUCH has changed and I was completely lost when I first started, but now I'm getting the hang of it. Unbelievable how far it's come.

My only gripe is the online.

Funny how when people review any sort of game, they give it an average score, but knock down a few points cause of lack of online play, or a flaw in that mode.

These are the people who forget 20-30 years ago, we didn't have online play.

That's the way it goes. Expectations change with the times. You won't find too many people that will buy a full-price cell phone that doesn't do texting or take pictures and videos. That logic applies to everything. Once something good comes along and is easily applicable, then it becomes the standard.

I'm not one that cares too much about online play, but I do realize its importance to people. I have lots of fun with it myself, but I still primarily play games for their single player campaigns and look at online as something of an extra (except for something like the Battlefield series -- I bought Bad Company specifically for the online play lol). But it is the standard now and with games and consoles costing an arm and a leg, they better be all they can be, heh.

The last basketball game I had was 2K1 on the Dreamcast. My attitude towards sports games depends on my interest in said sport. I upgrade NBA games roughly every 5 years.

Hockey- every 2-3 years
Football (NFL)- every 2-3 years
Football (NCAA)- every 4-5 years
Baseball- EVERY year
Soccer- every 5 years
Golf- every 5 years
Nascar- every 4 or 5 years
With boxing and UFC, I stick with a game until I find one better.

With sports games, there's usually not much difference year-to-year so I devised a schedule! Laughing

That's probably a really good idea. I hear a lot of people complaining about 2K9 because not much has changed from recent versions, but here I am loving it because I haven't played one for 9 years lol.

I really don't see any reason for companies to keep putting out brand new games for sports each year anyway. With downloadable content, all they have to do is release some upgrades every once in a while and when they come across something major, like a new engine or something, THEN make a new game.

Not playing anything just yet, but once the Feb show gets done, I want to devote time to as many games as possible. I'm thinking about getting back into GTA: Vice City. That game got me addicted no matter whose home I was in, mine or my GF's, cause we both have a copy of the game.

I also have the PSP, plus Death Jr, and Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins, so I'll give those a whirl.

Been thinking about Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the PC. I had the game, deleted it, then when the 320 drive went bad, I lost the ZIP file, so I gotta find it all over again.
