At least you didn't try to take apart the Atari and attempt to make your own game system out of it. Tried that once when I was 12, before realizing you need the right tools for the job.

First system I got was the NES. It was Christmas 1988. I got Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt/World Track Meet with it. I also got the gun and the running pad. The last system I got (so far) is the Xbox 360.

The first system I had was an NES. My most recently bought system was a Sega Master System that I bough off of Ebay because I never owned one back in the day. Shinobi, Wonderboy. Good stuff.

I think we still have a SMS in our house, with a lot of games. The Genesis turbo controller works well with that, heh heh.

Mt only complain with the Master system controller (besides it taking a bit to get used to the D-pad) is the wire that comes out the side of it.

It's a small complain though, but it feels weird.
