Dude, there were lots of cage matches. Also in the old NWA, there were Texas barbwire matches. I think they went a little over board with specialty matches in later years, though.

Specialty matches are overdone to the maximum, however i just think todays wrestling programs are just too repetetive, i mean John Cena held the WWE Championship for like 2 years it seemed. It got to the point where i didnt even want to watch pay per views anymore because John Cena would always win somehow or the other, but i guess i cant complain too much because Hulk Hogan would always win the title someway or another, but i never liked him, i was a Ulitmate Warrior fan through and through. I also liked The Bushwakers, Demolition, and The Rockers before Shawn Michels decided to become a douche While were on the subject, why does Shawn Michels still call himself the Heart Break Kid? that was like 20 years ago, but my favorite wrestler is sabu. that guy is insane. he cut his arm open in a barbed wire match and to heal his wond, instead of getting wussy stiches, he super glued it shut. Also he broke his jaw in a match and the next day wrestled with it taped up. Thats hardcore baby!!!!

Remember the giant wrestling action figures and the thumb wrestlers they had? I remember having a giant Hulk Hogan complete with belt. I also remember (stupidly) giving the belt to someone in school who "misplaced" theirs from their Hogan.

Just got a game called Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for the PS2. It rocks! The graphics are 16-bit style but the game has all the customization of recent wrestling games. I'm having a blast playing it!
