Dude, the 16-bit era was a great time to be a gamer. I'd say you can't go wrong with a SNES and Genesis.

I concur. I still haven't gotten through all the great SNES games yet and the Sonic games on Genesis were amazing too.
There were alot of great NES games too but if I had to pick my favourite era, it would be 16bit.

Agreed, the 16 bit era will never be forgotten, they were some of the best years of my life, especially the Sega Genesis, and playing together with a friend
