What have you seen recently?

I'm not sure if there has been a thread like this on the forum yet since I'm really new to this, but I thought that it would be a good idea to post a thread where members can tell what they have watched recently, what they thought about the movie(s) they've seen recently etc.

I saw the latest X-files movie - I want to belive (I think thats right) and to be honest I dont really understand why people think it sucks so much. Sure, it dosent have the best storyline, but I was entertained after watching it. Maybe it was the fact that it felt really good to see Mulder and Scully on the big screen again and that my mind got filled to the brim with nostalgia. But I have to say that it felt like watching a regular episode from back in the days. I personally think that they could have put a bit more depth and work into the movie.

I'm sure if I look hard enough, there's a similar post, but that's ok. No harm done.

Just saw Haunting in Connecticut. It was ok. People thought it sucked, though. There were times I jumped at certain scenes, and I think that's why people hated it. Too much shocks.

I like being scared. hehe

Havent seen that one, but I've heard of it and yes, people have told me that it sucked. I'd rather watch it on my own though before I make up my mind.

If you're into horrorflicks I have to recommend www.deadpit.com

Just got Bill Mauer's Religulous on DVD. I've watched it 3 times. It's hilarious... or extremely offensive, depending on your views.

As with all documentaries, there's a fair amount of creative editing.

'Watchmen' was the last movie i saw.
John Gibson

I've watched his show a few times. Good stuff.

OH! Unrelated topic. Brutha, I need you and Bree to write a little Mini-Bio for the website. Just a quick paragraph, fav games, movies, etc.

thanks

This weekend I saw The Undertow and Happy birthday to me.
John Gibson

Sweet. Never heard of it, and Happy Birthday, buddy. hehe

I saw Happy Birthday to Me when I was a kid. I don't remember much other than it was a slasher flick.

I went to see Crank 2 last week. I loved the first one. An action movie for guys that holds no punches and crosses every conceivable boundary. The second one lives up to those expectations.

I find it interesting (and it probably says something about our culture) that the main character who's a hitmans, cover up identity is a video game programmer. Multiple times in both movies they bring up games and/or put 8bit graphics in place of characters or text screens. I'm sure there's a whole "State of children today due to games" article that can be drawn from those two movies alone.

Dust to Glory. It's a documentary about the Baja 1000 off-road race in Mexico which is a 1000 mile long, 32 hr point-to-point race with 250 vehicles of all classes. Outstanding flick. Highly recommended.

Saw Angels and Demons yesterday.

Pretty good. Tom Hanks was cool in this film.

Favorite part of the film. He wants to get the police to escort him somewhere or something bad will happen. These two cops are exchanging words back and forth, and Hanks says

"OH, by all means, let's talk this over"

I cracked up in my seat! Too funny!

I'll probably get around to seeing that. I wasn't terribly impressed with The DiVinci Code but Tom Hanks is always worth watching. Probably because I read the DiVinci Code before I saw the first film. I haven't read Angels and Demons.
John Gibson

I didn't read either one. I had a bit of a hard time following Da Vinci Code, the film.

Angels and Demons, I wouldn't say it was easier to follow, but still it was an entertaining film.

I saw Star Trek on Saturday and loved it.
indianatrekker26

since it came out, ive seen Star Trek four times now. Loved it every time. There's nothing up and coming I really care to see now.
John Gibson

We were gonna see Angels and Demons again, but decided to save it for next week, perhaps.

Watched The Incredible Hulk finally. I thought it was very good. Edward Norton makes a good Bruce Banner and I loved all the nods to the TV show.
John Gibson

The only nod I had a problem with was Jack McGee as a young person. You'd expect him to be about Bruce Banners age, or older.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see him at all.

Still, much better movie than the first one.

Just got back from watching Public Enemies. I walked out after about 45 minutes. It's that fuckin bad.

I read the book over the last couple of weeks. It kicks ass. I wish Michael Mann(writer/director) would have read it. The true story of John Dillinger is much more interesting than the tripe I just paid $7 bucks to watch.
