Watchmen is very definitely a graphic novel. If you look at the text-heavy parts between chapters and the pirate story (anyone who's read the book knows what I'm talking about), it's very specifically made for that medium.
This looks to be a good adaptation and I'll definitely give it a chance. Still, I can't help but think that Watchmen was meant to be a comic and nothing else. A movie would be great but I don't think that they could ever capture the experience that I had reading the book. Still, I'm optimistic that it's going to be a good movie, just not the same experience that the book was. |

I hope nobody makes a big deal out of this. I think it's important that Dr. Manhatten is naked. He's ascended beyond the other humans in both their need for clothes and their need for shame.
There are also rumours that the ending has been changed. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it but I will definitely be disappointed if it's true. The original ending was really iconic and kind of (deliberately) out of place with the rest of the story. It is also central to the plot - there are alot of events that happen throughout the story that point directly at the ending. |

I just hope that they don't use too much wire stuff / slow motion. That was the low point for me in 300 (which I did like) and it really doesn't belong in this movie. I don't think it will ruin it for me though. It still looks like it could be an excellent movie. |
