Good show, John! As for being dependent on the show's reviews, I find them both entertaining, and informative. Some games that get good reviews don't interest me, but that's okay. However, the bad games that get bad reviews, i agree 100 % for the most part. That guitar rendition of the 'Mickey Mouse' theme was kinda neat, Chris. It's not much, but at least you didn't sing 'The Best Of both Worlds'.

I loved that part at the end. I thought it was very charming, and I'm more into old school Disney than modern.
Now, that's creativity. I would never be able to write that into an old Video Masters episode, and have Jose or Winston strummin a guitar.

Another great episode!
I completely agree with that reviews should be more informative than declarative. Take for example Godfather on PS2. It's a hack-job GTA rip-off, but I just enjoy playing it. I've played the hell outta that game over the past few years. Every gamer knows his or her own tastes and should play accordingly.
Those Hulk movies look pretty bad-ass. Chris, your song was awesome man.

A quick note. I had to leave out a Digital Dig, about the X-Men leaked Workprint. Apparently, we got an email saying that Fox knows we've been downloading the movie.
Personally, I think it's a bunch of shit. What are they gonna do? Send a guy in a suit to our house to smash our computers? Arrest us for watching a movie? I'm not distributing it.
So now that it's been omitted from the show, no one can say that I used it in any way, other than viewing it.

Nice good to see that you arenīt prepared to give up Earl and Duke yet.
Hmm if anything else they could have their own show on that guywiththeglasses.
2 to 4 show a month at the length of 2 to 5 minuets top most.

Again, that's why i say that I'm getting sick, and tired of Hollywood treating the rest of us like criminals every time someone gets a movie illegally because they're so paranoid of losing potential box office sales on said movies that they can't find the actual perps who do the dirty deeds.

Hollywood bitches and moans anytime a movie is leaked and downloaded. What they fail to realize is it isn't hurting them at all. Box office figures for big movies are still gigantic, look at the Dark Knight. Hollywood fails to realize that it's been pumping out garbage and with the economy bad, people will see less garbage movies. They can still count on the blockbusters making money hand over fist (Transformers 2, Wolverine, Harry Potter, etc.).
Their argument over losing money due to downloading is simply speculation since you can't say the person downloading the movie would ever go see said movie.
Bunch of BS.

Good episode, I liked it.
You have the perfect face for audio.

A lot of people tell me that.
I'm sure once I drop about 90 pounds, I'll have a decent face for TV.
Maybe I'll review Wii Fit in the future. LOL

Great episode. There's a lot of content here.
I especially like Matt Rau's interviews. A lot of interesting comics there - I'll definitely try to find time to check some of them out.
The F-Zero X footage was great. Even though the game wasn't reviewed, seeing it in action was enough to get me interested. It looks very good, better than I expected for a N64 game. I'll definitely check it out at some point.

Thanks for watching the show and commenting, folks! Sorry I've been AWOL on the forums for so long. I've been stuck in space for the past 2 years I think... with no viable way to get home; in fact, I'm still floating around out here.
I'll try to post this weekend with all the names and URLs of the folks I interviewed at the Stumptown Comic Fest.
FOX actually sent a Hit Man over to my house on Saturday, his day off apparently, so my wife served him tea before my 2 year old pee'd on him and I stuffed him in a smallish pirate chest... then we went out to the lake and dumped him in, weights attached to the chest.

Yeah, sorry I rushed it out without getting more info from ya. I was too excited by the show that we had.
Folks, just wait until the May show. Already got stuff lined up.

Great EpisodeJohn, I always take reviews with a grain of salt. I read and watch various reviews for games and then form my own opinion. I understand downsizing VMTV (by the way nice layout on the website!) and have branched out to other websites to fill the void of not having VMTV every month.
Matt, I am jealous! I live in Portland and I keep missing these cool events. You would think that I would keep a lookout for comic conventions, but I space!
Chris, I love how you bring obscure nuggets from videogames! I alnmost forgot that game! I thought it was a fun and easy game that anyone could enjoy (The other was Kirby's Adventure).
Keep it up guys and hopefully Earl can find a replacement for Santa!

Wow, I didn't realize we had a viewer from Portland! Nice!
It's not easy for me to keep track of what's going on up here...and sometimes harder for me to make it out to the events.
The next big event here, for me, is going to be the Classic Gaming Expo...http://retrogamingexpo.com/
I'll be there, recording things yet once again! Maybe I'll see you there and we can hang out there... I'd like to interview YOU for the show! That'd be totally effin rad!

It'd be cool if Matt met a fan, and just talked shop. That's what I did when I met Splodge from the forums. We hung out at Nintendo World in NYC, and got pics taken.

Hi everyone, I'm glad to hear some of you enjoyed the Adventures in the Magic Kingdom review! I regretfully have yet to see the show (I'm actually in Disney World as I type this, strangely enough).
I can't wait to see the episode, I'll catch it sometime this coming week when I get back.
The little ditty at the end was a last second addition I whipped up while filming because I hated the original sign-off I was doing.
See ya soon guys.

Disneyland, eh? Cool.
So far, everyone I've talked to loves the Magic Kingdom review.
Next episode, I want to try for 3 reviews. So far, I've got two I can easily edit. I want to review something myself. Either Superman for NES, Rayman for Jaguar, or something secret. Dunno yet.

Superman for NES would be cool. Always like seeing the NES games get reviewed. Brings back memories.

Finally saw the episode, it was fun! I had never seen DK on Colecovision before, it's pretty good. Matt's trip to the comic book show was cool to see. Matt did you include everyone you talked to at the show or do you do a lot of interviews and only a few make the cut?
|
John Gibson
|
I think that was all the interviews. If anything, if he makes it too long, I can make it into 2 parts, hehe.
LOL that's an awesome pic.
You may have to explain that one to everyone.

Yeah, basically I have this old myspace page that I never use anymore. Everytime I check it, I have friend requests and messages from girls who think I am *the* Chris Evans, you know, the "actor". So I've essentially gotten tired of saying I'm not the actor and instead I just pretend like I don't know who the hell the actor is and I act like they are talking to me.
Case in point:
Girl: "Hello Chris, you don't know me and I can't add you, but i'm not a crazy fan, i just want to add you, if you know me you'll see that i'm a cool person to know. Here in Brazil we really like you.
Thanks and don't just delete this msg rs "
Me: Hello, I'm glad to hear that Brazil is such a big fan of me! I had no idea!
So I'm not pretending to be Chris Evans The Actor, I'm just pretending that I am (1) extremely naive and (2) I have no idea who Chris Evans The Actor is. It makes for some pretty funny exchanges sometimes, I'll have to dig through my hundreds of pages of messages and see what I can drudge up sometime.
All that to say, the pic is me as Chris Evans from X-Men.

That's just hilarious. How come no one has mistaken me for this guy.

I look so much like this John Gibson the same way our Chris looks like the Human Torch.
Flame on, dumbasses.
