Video Masters TV- Season 3, Episode 3- November, 2008Sorry guys, dealing with a bad virus on my PC. Very little way to back up everything VMTV related I have.
Until further notice, the October show is canceled. DVD sales will be put on hold until further notice.
I know I have 2 UK orders going out. Those are put on hold for the time being, but I haven't forgotten them.
As soon as everything is back to normal, the shows will resume.

That's bad news, man.
What exactly is the problem?
I'm no computer expert so I probably couldn't help too much.
Still, if you post the information, someone here might be able to help you out.

Aw, man! That bites. I hope you didn't lose anything important, or that the computer can get fixed somehow.
|

Didn't lose anything yet, but the pop-ups and warnings about spyware aren't promising.
I'm thinking I'll combine the October show and November, and make the whole thing an hour long.
It'll be a BIG BIG show!!

Maybe you could make it two parts for the whole month to save time, and bandwidth.

I gave this a lot of thought. I need to make sure this thing is running at least decently enough to pump out a show.
Already, upon cleaning it, some of the main mp3 files are corrupted, though after converting them to...well...mp3 files again, they seem to work. One of them so far. Haven't tried the rest.
C'mon, you mean to tell me you don't wanna see an hour long show? 60 plus minutes (if possible) of VMTV goodness.
Besides, there's a little something I'm saving. What I might do soon is make a trailer to announce it.
Trust me, with the upcoming Comic Con (www.bigapplecon.com), I think this is going to be a great special show.

Now that you mention it, i guess an hour long episode doesn't sound too bad. It's just that youtube videos are rarely an hour long from what i've seen.

It looks like I fixed the major problems plaguing the PC. It turns off instead of reboots. No virus or spyware detected. Things appear to be normal.
But I am so far behind, it's too late to churn out a show, and plus I'm itchin to attempt an hour long show. It'll give us all a chance to deliver the goods in a timely manner, so we don't have to rush.
I'll see what I can do about maybe puttin up an old show, or something to hold you guys over.

No Hallowe'en special then.
I guess, I can live with that.
An hour-long episode is worth the wait.

Trust me, I had so many Halloween themed ideas, and reviews, etc. It might not be any special putting that into a November show. They were really good ideas.
|
Splodge

If they're good ideas, go with them. It doesn't matter if it's just a month late.
No sense waiting a whole year till next October.
If you do decide to put some Hallowe'en stuff in, I'd recommend looking at the Hallowe'en episode of Quantum Leap. That one still gives me chills.

hmm, Halloween episode of Quantum Leap? Was that the one about the ghost that pretended to be Al, or something like that?
|
Splodge
|
Yeah, that's the one. It was definitely one of the darker episodes.
It kind of introduced the idea that there are evil forces in the Quantum Leap universe (as opposed to the good force that guides Sam), which was later elaborated upon with the Evil Leaper episodes.

Noooooo!I'm going through VMTV addiction! I might have to get my VMTV fix from rewatching Seasons 1 and 2 (Actually that's not a bad idea!)!!!!

Or gettin the DVD, perhaps?

John, I've had a little experience with these viruses. If I'm correct it's a smitfraud, try to Google a program to get rid of them. They're very difficult to deal with. Just to be safe.

How's the episode coming along? I'm hoping that it's almost finished.

Live action, done. Voiceover recording is today. Game footage, done. I won't say it'll be released today. There just isn't enough time to edit the show together, render it, and post it the same day. I would say tomorrow, Dec 1, or 2.
It won't be an hour as I promised, but it should be a good length, as it usually is. Some stuff I want to save for the next show, so I'm not scrambling for content.
Make sense? This way, we get the December show out on time.

Show is rendering at home while I'm at work. Hopefully, there are no major errors. If it looks good when I watch it, it'll go up tonight.
Sorry it's late, but we got plenty of stuff for December, and this one will be out on time.
Watch this space for info. I'll know what's what by 5 or 6pm tonight

We missed October, and we're late. What can you do? This episode is not a full hour as we promised, but it's still got kick ass material. Check out a 10 minute segment on Matt Rau's video game goodies that he picked up in Japan. We got reviews to Mr. Do on the Colecovision, and Floigan Bros on the Dreamcast. All this, plus a look at the Superman TV series from the 1950's.

Once again, we have another great episode. Matt's Benny Hill/Monty Python bit was neat, and Earl's reaction was a very nice touch. Nice to see the previous logo again. Guess the more recent one didn't work out so well. I agree that we don't very many heroes in the media these days. It's all journalists, talk show hosts, politicians, novel writers, infomercial salesmen, or pop stars. I'd hate to see the next generation of kids who look to them as 'heroes'.
The trailer for 'Batman' did seem like it was slapped together without much thought put into it. Speaking of Batman, i pray that Christian Bale didn't make a big mistake by signing on to this new 'Terminator' movie. Thanks for picking 'Battle Of The Batmen' for the Digital Dig. (My money's still on Bale, though.)
I might want to look at this 'Bill Clinton' game, and see if i can score a 'nafta'. ('Nother Afternoon Of That A@@') I don't know how an 'Obama' game would be like, but maybe we'll get something once enough critics, and comedians give people some ideas. (I wonder how Earl would react to footage of Sarah Palin on his computer screen?) Overall, politics make me sick these days. They get way too much media attention, and alot of people just don't know what they're voting for sometimes. So it's rare i'll ever bring them up unless they affect our favorite pass time.
That gag with Darth Vader pining over the girl from the prequel movies (I think) before Earl's little rant was also a nice touch. Great use of Air Supply's 'All Out Of Love', as well as a quick cameo from The Nostalgia Critic on Earl's screen. (I'm still waiting for Toto's 'Africa' to show up in another gag someday.) Finally, Earl's complaint to the cable company at the end (Along with the 'Iranian VMTV' footage) was priceless. Cable channels are getting pretty bad these days. Not as bad as broadcast TV, but they're getting pretty bad. For future installments, you should have Earl interrupt say, an infomercial, a newscast, a reality show, or some video from Britney, or Miley as gag on what the masses (Read: Non 'VMTV' viewers) might be watching. Overall, great show this month.

HEHE, wish that Bill Clinton game was real. That would rock. Wonder who made it.
It wasn't easy making pics of Natalie Portman appear over supposed video of Admiral Ozzel getting choked by Vader.
I decided to put the old logo back cause it's already on all the T-Shirts, and it looks more stylish. I figured with a different logo, a different approach to the show, but as you all saw, I slowly went back to our old ways, skits, and all that.
Maybe Earl should watch DUKE's porn collection.

I went to the 'Blame Society' web site, and discovered this funny series of skits called 'Morning Radio Mysteries'. All i can say is this! Freakin' Hilarious! Thanks for bringing this site up.

Great show this Month.
I like the new intro. Good choice on going back to the older logo.
It's good to see Matt Rau back on the show. He's got alot of cool stuff there.
Definitely do make time to play Super Metroid. It's a really great experience finishing it for the first time.
Also, I hope that Mother guide book helps. I haven't played the first Mother game but if it's as good as the others it's probably worth playing. But remember, 'No crying until the end'.
I'll definitely make time for the George Reeves Superman show. From the review, I'm guessing I'll prefer the earlier seasons (the black and white ones) but I'll definitely give it all a chance (... eventually. I've got alot of stuff on my list to check out).
There hasn't been a Planet of the Apes review for a while. Wasn't the plan to review one a month for five months? I don't mind, though - the show was fairly packed anyway.
Also, I loved the Darth Vader skit. I'd definitely like to see more randomness like that in the show.

Great episode, dude!
Dig the new intro. It's more ... aggressive!
Trailer Trash was good. I'm like you. Screw constant jump cuts and 1 second clips in trailers.
The Floigan Brothers review turned out pretty good. (you're a genius John!)
Earl shouldn't try to figure out the Street Fighter movie. It's hopeless.
Altered Beast hasn't aged very well at all. I always prefered Golden Ax in the Sega glory days.
Matt's Japanese stuff was pretty sweet. Bree would geek out over your Zelda stuff. I'd love to get over to the Land of the Rising Sun someday.
Iranian VMTV makes an appearance! Sorry we offended that dude on youtube. (not really)
Awesome job guys!

Wouldn't mind filming something over at Rockefeller again. Just saw the tree on TV this morning. I gotta take Steph to see it, and then maybe head over to Nintendo World.

I've been informed that the links to the episodes provided through the forums may lead to a virus pop up, or some type of infection.
I'm asking everyone here to be cautious and report any suspicious activity to me, and I'll see what I can do about it.
In the future, I will provide links to the page where you can download the episode, not a link to the download itself.
We'll see what happens, then.
I've had 2 reported cases so far. I hate to keep count should this happen 15 more times.
