Seems John you got another piece of Trailer Trash on your hands.

LOL I got the trailer a few weeks ago, it's already in the "Episode 22" folder for the next show.

May be a decent action flick, but what's with the music from Bram's Stoker's Dracula in the trailer?

If this is a new trend by studio heads to take music from other movies, and use it for their trailers, this is another instance of Hollywood's never ending supply of creatively bankrupt ideas, and schemes in marketing.

Most people won't even know the difference. They used the soundtrack to the Untouchables for their trailer to The Spirit. I didn't have to be told that, I have the movie, and I loved the music they used.
Bram Stokers Dracula, I did not see, so I can't comment on the music they used for the Mummy trailer. I think what's happening is when you have to use the movie soundtrack for the actual movie in their trailers, wouldn't that mean the music guy gets more money? Is that what it means? So if they use a theme to a movie that's pretty much forgotten by 65% or more of us, say Untouchables (1987) and Dracula (1992), no one will care. And this isn't the first time...
I can't remember exactly what movie I was seeing, might have been the re-release of Star Wars, mid-1997 or so. They were showing the trailer to Batman & Robin.
At first, you hear the same music from the previous film, Batman Forever. At some point, they shift to Danny Elfman's Batman theme. I actually thought the film would be good based on that. Boy, was I wrong.
Wonder if Elfman got upset at all at the fact they're using his theme in the trailer, and not compensating him for it. Maybe they did, I don't know.
My point? There's no harm (I think) in using the proper movie's soundtrack in the trailers FOR it.
