Yeah it's a great movie.
Mitchell has come in for some pretty bad press on the back of it but his role as villain was cleverly edited. He is actually a nice guy. Nice in the way that someone who is the best in the world at something is nice. |

*sigh* As a movie it is good, as a docuDRAMA it is great, as a documentary it sucks, really really bad. If you actually went to the events you would find out the the editing techniques are extraordinary to the point where most of the people are not talking on camera for a reason. However like I said it is a good movie, just don't think that is how it really went down, because talk to a CGE 07 attendee and they can let you know about a major piece of it that got cut. |

I hate it that people expect documentaries to be truthful. Documentaries are not the news. They serve a completely different purpose.
They are just like any other film - they are deliberately constructed to tell a story or present a thesis from a certain point of view. That's one thing this film did very well. It told a story using true events - presented reality from a certain point of view. It is an excellent documentary. |

I read in Retro Gamer magazine that the filmakers may have taken a lot of liberties editing the film. Billy Mitchell and Twin Galaxies are portrayed as goons in the film.
Still, big props to Steve Weibe for going into that hostile arcade and breaking that record. |
