Street Fighter 2 character names?My friend told me the other day that Balrog was really called M.Bison and M.Bison was really called Vega in the japenese version of the game,Why is this?

In Japan, the boxer character's name was "Mike Bison" and was a somewhat play off of the boxer "Mike Tyson". To avoid a possible lawsuit from Mike Tyson over a possible likeness, they switched names around.
In Japan "M. Bison" is the boxer, "Vega" is the leader/final boss, and "Balrog" was the Spanish bullfighter with the claws.
In the US it changed around to "Balrog" the boxer, "M. Bison" the leader, and "Vega" the bullfighter.

Anytime. Street fighter is one of the first games I bought for my Genesis and have always liked the SF Universe of characters. It's good stuff.

Hell yeah.I had the original Street Fighter for the C64 years ago and ever since then iv loved the Street Fighter series but after all that time I never new about the name thing lol.Have you ever played Street Fighter 2 rainbow edition if you haven't play it its crazy.

It's a shame the Street Fighter movie had to be Raul Julia's last role. The movie was awful, I'm sorry.

At least Ryu was japanese in the movie. More than I can say for the rumors regarding a new "Street Fighter" movie based on Chun Li. Where Chun Li is played by Jessica Biel...

Ummm, I don't think so. I think now is the time to leave the SF series be. The last thing SF needs is more sequels.

I like the Manga versions of Street Fighter alot and I hope they release more.The only one i didn`t like all that much was Street Fighter Alpha Generations.

I have all the Street Fighter animes. Great stuff. So much better than anything that could be live action.

I just don`t think it works live action and thats it.I watched a Street fighter manga about6 months ago but can`t remember which one it was.I know there was great battle with zangiff and Ryu.

I think that one was Street Fighter Alpha movie. Where Ryu goes evil and all that. I made an Anime Music Video of that movie a while back.

No, can't post it on Youtube because its too large a file. For some reason when I made that video I couldn't get the filesize down below like 140mb. It was one of the more complex ones I made with Adobe Premiere so I was bummed to not get it on Youtube.
Perhaps I can try to reconvert it tonight and get it smaller for Youtube.
