A lot of these games aren't even out yet are they? What are you giving awards for? The hype? I watched the first one of these they did and it was a joke. All of the hosts and guest they trotted out didn't seem to know a thing about gaming.

I think the problem with videogames is that while they're getting more, and more mainstream, they're still not at the same level of acceptance as movies. Also, videogames feature characters that were created by software. Not real people who act infront of the camera. To make matters worse, most game developers lack the sex appeal of Brad Pitt, yet they're probably alot smarter than he is. Which is why they don't get much press in our 'image obsessed' media. This is why i think a videogame award show needs to be handled by people who know about games, and not some mainstream cable network who's totally clueless on videogames.
