Spiderman 3 on Xbox 360I finally got spiderman 3 for Xbox 360.
Their are good good points and bad for this game.
First of all the graphics are great.The whole web swinging through the streets looks and plays well.And even the people and traffic on the street look great and all move independently of each other.
The people sort of look the same as the ones in the new GTA 4 trailer that's going around.
If you have played spiderman 2 on the original Xbox, you should feel right at home with the controls.Treyarch have also added some new spidey upgrades as well as the ones he had in the previous games.
Some of the things you can do now include a different range of combos.As well as webbing your enemy and spinning them around and around till you throw them into a wall etc.He also has a sprint button...for short bouts of running like GTA.And he has a new spidey sense ability.All you do is press and click in your right analog stick and all the graphics go grey.Then what happens is things that are important to completing your mission are higlighted in red in your surroundings.Then all you have to do is go to them and and tells you what button you need to press to achieve your goal.
Another cool feature in the game is the action scenes where you have to press a button at a certian time to complete the scene.
Just like in dragons lair.
What happens is you will be presented a scene where you have to do something....a button will flash on the screen for example A, then you press it and spidey does something heroic.Then another button appears and he goes from one scene to another while you press buttons at the correct moment.
It's great and it adds a certain something to the gameplay.
It doesn't last long but it breaks up the gameplay abit.
I have only played the game for about half an hour so far,and unlocked just a couple of upgrades.
But you can actually pause the menu and see what special upgrades you still have to unlock.Here is just some of them......
1)uppercut
2)backslap
3)hammer
4)tonrado kick
5)sky kick
6)double crush
7)head stomper
8)throw down
9)dragon fist
10)toss up
11)super speed
.......and many more
And in the pause menu under playable characters you have the spiderman as we know him and also later on you can play as "black suited spiderman".Who is supposed to have new combos and abilites.As well as being alot more powerful.
Xbox 360 owners have alot of achievements to unlock.
And Treyarch have simplified the whole city map menu.All you do now is press the back button and you get a map of the city and a menu with 3 different options.
You can switch between missions...activities and crime fighting locations.
Missions is simple enough to understand.Activities are like little mini games that include sky diving...speed racers (where you have to web swing through the city and reach check points within a limited time etc.
And crime fighting is where you go and attack certain gangs in the city.Their are three gangs all together.
Like i said the graphics are great.And even the random "save a an innocent victim" missions that you can come across when web swinging through the city look great.
Now their are a couple of things that bother me about this game.One is there is no lock-on feature for spidey during combat.So some of the time you rip into a combo and end up swinging your arms through thin air as your enemy side steps your attack.It can get very annoying.
The second thing is the game is HARD.
I had my butt kicked on many an occasion.So if you like a challenge...buy it.But if your easily frustrated...rent it first and check it out.
It doesn't help when you don't have a block button either.You are have to constantly jump out of the way of attcks or do the whole doge and reverse attack move.Which involves you holding down the left button and waiting till a yellow fist appears above your opponents head.When that happens you press the x button and spidey dodges the attack and counters.
Its a great game...but like i said it has some combat control issues and the difficulty could have been a little less.

i want to buy it but for now i just rented it i started playing yesterday and i think i'm pretty good i just beat scorpion
