Resident Evil 5RE 5 is coming!!! Chris Redfield (Last seen in RE:Code Veronica) returns in what is an African setting. I saw the PS3 trailer and I was astounded by the detail in the graphics. If you haven't seen the trailer go to Playstation.com and watch it!

Can't afford a ps3 anyway. Shame cause I really liked RE4. Otherwise I'm a Silent Hill man. Maybe I can get me a 360 and ps3. How much could I get for a kidney on ebay?

I believe you need to sell a liver to get a PS3.
I like that they dropped the price but won't buy due to the dropped backwards compatability.
Its a shame the Wii isn't closer graphicially as this game looks to be too much for the Wii to handle. RE4 was great on the Wii.

PS3PS3 is Backwards compatible with PSX and PS2. If you are hooked into the internet, updates make more game possible. I play Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy X, FF X-2, FF XII, and others. I only have Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom for PS3. So far I've have had no problem.

The new lower priced 40gig PS3's (the ones advertised in all their commercials now) are not Backwards compatable with PS2 games at all. They removed it entirely. Their reason to remove it was they don't want people to play PS2 games, they want them to buy new PS3 games instead.
Sony lacks logic.
From Wiki:
| Quote: | | The 40 GB model has two USB ports instead of the four USB ports on other models, and does not include a multi memory card port, SACD support, or any backwards compatibility with PlayStation 2 titles. |

PS3 DisputeI have one and I have no problems! Sony marketing strategy is to make the market accessible until phase out. PS2 games are still coming out on both systems (the Ben 10 game is only PS2). Sony was quite clear that they want to not completely phase out their systems until PS3 has more games and is ready for mass market. With 360 coming out with Blue Dragon and Mass Effect (and let's not forget Halo 3!), Sony must utilize a unique marketing strategy. Nintendo phase the Gamecube quickly with Legend of Zelda being the only game coming out on Gamecube and Wii.
X Box assured consumers that X Box Live will be free (It was, but to get all the features you need to get a Gold account.) PS3 is utilizing it's popularity as well as the fact that you don't need a membership to access all of it's online features. You still have to pay to download full games, but you can download a ton of stuff for free! Also X Box and Wii didn't come complete with HD/Blue Ray Players. A Blue Ray Player can cost up to $500. Now if Sony was to add that in, PS3 would be worth $700 or more! Not saying Microsoft and Nintendo are bad. Nintendo is for the casual to hardcore gamer that has little money (It's the cheapest). X Box is for Hardcore gamers who want GTA or Halo (A lot of Teen/ Adult stuff). PS3 does both. Look at the marketing strategy and you will see that each company has their own idea.

Blue-ray my ass. How about Sony just does away with their $500 DVD player and give me an affordable gaming console like they have done for the last 12 years?
I've really enjoyed the Playstation brand, but Sony got cocky and now they're paying for it.

PS3 DisputeSee 300 in Blue Ray. I was enthralled. Of course, Blue Ray/HD is the war we had 20 years ago and we don't have pornos to decide the outcome (I heard porno companies are using both formats).

Sony was obviously targeting the kind of consumer who would pay 500 bucks for something that plays movies and it has backfired. Every new technology is expensive at first, that's what Bill Maher calls the "nerd tax". If you have to be the first to have one then you will pay 3 or 4 times as much as the rest of us who wait for the price of things to be reasonable. I'm sure blue ray is great, but I don't want one. In the end, it's a fancy DVD player. I have a dvd player. I want a videogame system.
