Looks okay. Normally I'd say it's a bad idea to bring them back to earth, especially in present day. But from interviews it sounds like they are taking the right approach and it is definitely still a sci-fi show. I'm a big fan of the show so I can't wait - I just hope they take it in the right direction.
I don't know if I have the channel but it'll probably be online sometime over the weekend.
Also, If you don't know what Red Dwarf is (shame on you):
Well, it was very good.
The script wasn't as tight as a lot of the older episodes - probably because the story is spread over three parts - so it didn't seem like a lot happened.
But it was the old Red Dwarf. It looks prettier but the humour is the same as ever, especially Rimmer's 'Mech's don't take holiday' line (I won't ruin it),
It was nowhere near the level of classic episodes, especially Series V but it was a lot better than Series VII and definitely a good start to the story.
It's getting a bit of hate online. I can understand that - like I say not a lot happened and it did feel weird without the laugh track - but I think for the most part that comes form people who expected to hate it anyway.
I'm definitely looking forward to how things progress (but I am worried about the whole returning to Earth in present day thing - it just seems like a cheap way out - I wonder if the story would have been different if they still had a BBC budget?)
