Not bad not bad at all, i will defiantly be looking forward to this one.

Interesting. I kinda liked Casino Royale, so I may have to see this one.

I'm looking forward to this.

The later Pierce Brosnan films were terrible. I really thought the series had just gone on too long - it had become too much of a self-parody.

I really liked Casino Royale. I'm glad they were finally able to turn it around.
John Gibson

I sorta feel that way about the time between A View to a Kill, and The Living Daylights. The Bond series by the early 80's had taken a turn for the laughs, and had more emphasis on humor. When Timothy Dalton took the role, it was a hard edged Bond, which is what Connery was, and how 007 was portrayed in the novels.

Actually, whenever I think of Casino Royale, I think of the 60's spoof. lol

Growing up I was more familiar with the Roger Moore films. They had a camp quality to them but I still liked them. I never really watched alot of the movies so I wasn't aware of all the changes (tonally) the series went through.

I just think that the difference between 'Goldeneye' and 'Die Another Day' was huge.

'Goldeneye' was a serious action-spy movie. It had big moments, maybe a little too much spectacle, but it was still acceptable. It was the big return of James Bond.

'Die Another Day' had invisible cars and all kinds of stuff. It just went too far. Also the story wasn't too good. Even though it was still Pierce Brosnan and the films looked the same. They were world's apart.

I'm really happy with Casino Royale. I just hope they don't take the series too far - that it becomes a joke again. I'd say 3-5 films with Daniel Craig and that team, and leave it at that. They've already used all the material anyway.
John Gibson

When I talk to George Lazenby (Bond #2) I'll ask his opinion of his successors, and his thoughts on the new films.

Personally, the franchise can only go so far to the point where they're going to start remaking the entire series all over again.

When they remake Goldfinger, and Dr. No, I'm done with 007. Period!

I don't think they've ever really done a remake though.
The other 'Casino Royale' was a parody, not a true Bond film.

I think the closest they came was 'Never Say Never Again', which was kind of a remake of 'Thunderball' but that was made by a different company, it wasn't like they were remaking a movie they had already made.

I do agree though. When the series starts repeating itself it's time to finish it.
