What better system to bring up for 'Gems & Failures' that the Phillips CDI? This system has an interesting connection with Nintendo in it's infancy since they were originally going to participate in developing it. Unfortunately, they weren't ready to delve into the fledgling CD Rom market due to uncertianty, so Phillips went at it alone. To bad Nintendo didn't take away the rights to their characters from Phillips because they made some of the worst possible game that Mario, and Zelda ever had. ('Hotel Mario', and 'Wand Of Gamelon' to name a few.) On the plus side, Phillips did offer the first arcade perfect ports of 'Dragon's Lair', and 'Space Ace' before DVDs came, and made their impact on the home video, and gaming market.

I would love to get my hands on a Phillips sometime, if I can ever afford it. They did have some bad titles, but I'm curious to see what good ones they had.
If anyone owns a CDi and a good camera, submit a review to us.

Ya know, I wonder, if I review a CD-i game now, if the AVGN goon squad will attack me. Cause James already reviewed the Zelda games.
*gasp* I must be careful. Don't wanna anger the fanboys.
