Original Xbox ModsIm looking to soft mod my original xbox i have splinter cell and the action replay i want to play emulated games and share media with my pc any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Pretty simple if you already have the proper version of the game. First check out this website:
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-183.html It's a complete tutorial. In a nushell what you'll be doing is this: Loading a special saved game (AutoInstaller Deluxe) onto your memory card and when the game loads it it will crash out into customer software. A burnt DVD with the correct Mod will allow you to install (after backing up all your original X-Box software) and then reboot You will no longer turn on into your green nasty screen, but rather a new Dashboard that will allow you to run unsigned code, emulator discs, etc. Definitly check the site - its a great resource to get you started! -Jason |

thanksgreat tutorial has pic of everything i need only one small problem (the software) the link to download it for free is not active anymore and i could download it from xbox hq but they would charge me(and frankly my money is better spent other places) do you know any way to get the software download for free please let me know |

I have 2 modded xboxes, 1 hard mod and one soft mod.
The hard disk in the soft modded one has died so now I have no option but to hard mod that too. GRRRRRRRRR. It's worth it though. I mainly use mine for media on my TV rather than gaming though. Always have. |
