sonic and the secret rings...well ok that one did look shitty
and each one was weaker than the last...

That's true but those games were all based on the same idea. They were all trying to make a "fast game" in the style of Sonic Adventure.
What I like about this new game is that they've actually seemed to put some thought into the gameplay. Making it a sidescroller was definitely a good move. I just hope the level design's good. That's what's been missing from modern Sonic games.
I think he's due a come-back. Bioware are working on a Sonic RPG which could be good and that Tennis game doesn't look half-bad. And I hear he plays pretty well in Brawl too (I won't know till June 2010 or whenever the hell they release it here).
If Sega can put out one good main-series Sonic game, maybe they can redeem the last 14 years
Still I'm not going to get my hopes up. The last Sonic game I got excited about was Sonic 3D on the Mega Drive and that was a huge disappointment.

Sonic on the 360 blew. There were so many glitches, and problems with the game that it feels unfinished.
Sonic really needs to stay 2D. End of story.

I agree, but with the great sucess of Mario 64 and later mario games to follow, I guess Sega trys to follow this trend, but this new sonic game looks decent, do you agree?

The footage looks pretty decent. Here's hoping that the gameplay is good this time.

The Dreamcast Sonic games were great and they were 3D. The hedgehog really needs a definitive game to get him back on track.
By the way, if you're playing Sonic on a Nintendo system, YOU ARE WRONG. Sorry, old fanboy reaction.

I don't know man. Sonic Adventure was okay. I'll give you that. But Sonic Adventure 2 was painful to play. The game wasn't bad but it was really annoying how the game forced you to play the godawful Knuckles and Tails missions.
If you ask me, it was all over after Sonic and Knuckles.
As for playing Sonic on Nintendo, I'll admit it is really weird, especially after growing up in the 90's during the war.
Still, I'd rather play Sonic on a Nintendo system than on Playstation or Xbox. Playstation 2 single handedly killed the Dreamcast and almost put Sega completely out of business. Nintendo and Sega had a pretty big rivalry back in the day but they never seriously hurt each other.

I forgot mention the Sonic Adventure games, they were actually good, I guess I didn't mention it because I'm not and expert on the game
