Another unnecessary remake.
Still, this cheers me up:

We'll be reviewing the original soon. I'll make a statement about this, you bet your sweet ass.

Define a movie that is necessary.

Something that hasn't been done already. I liked Robocop the first time. Why should they do it again? Advance in film technology? Can modernize the story for our ADHD generation?
How many remakes have actually succeeded or were better than the original? Look at Psycho, Planet of the Apes, Parent Trap, and on and on and on.

All we really can hope for is that Frank Miller can be persuaded to write the screen play/manuscript for this one.
But taken the fact that they screwed him over on the last two robocop movies (robocop 2 and 3) i doubt it.
Actually if you read Frank millers version of robocop (the comic) it can bring a tear to your eye whit the knowledge of what could have been.

Let's not forget those other Robocop incarnations that came afterwards. Weren't they like TV movies, or something to that effect? I remember watching one on the Sci-Fi channel (not the Richard Eden TV series, didn't care for that one).
If they really want to make a Robocop movie, give us Robocop Vs Terminator. Let's stop starting over, and let's move forward. I'm sure some of you had light bulbs go off saying "yeah, now there's an idea".
Still, Peter Weller was THE best Robocop, in my humble opinion.

Yes he was but the guy is a little TOO old to be playing Robocop (the guy is 60 by now i would have a VERY hard time taking him serious as Robocop).
