I just beat Mega Man 2 for the first time (.... cheating)
I bought Mega Man 2 on the Wii Virtual Console. I tried it out and it felt a little slow. The game was running on 50hz so it was 17% slower than the original version. Normally I don't mind that but the music was real slow and the game was way off.
I wanted to be sure so I put it on on the Dreamcast. It ran full-speed and felt alot better than the Virtual Console.
My two friends were over and they're not really into retro-gaming so I had no intention of actually playing the game.
We played a little bit, playing a level each.
4 hours later we'd finished the game. We cheated a little bit. Starting at Wily Stage 1 we started using save states. We weren't out to set a record we just wanted to see the whole game so I don't mind that.
It was pretty cool, that I had just turned it on to check something technical and we ended up playing through the whole thing.
I'm a big Mega Man fan but I've never actually finished a game (I came really close in Mega Man X) so it was cool that between the 3 of us we managed it (... while cheating).
(By the way, normally I don't buy games I already have but I do make exceptions to support some releases.)
