GP2X Handheld game system

I'm seriously considering getting this.

I definitely recommend it.
I have one and it's excellent. I think you might be better off getting the new model, though. It's probably more expensive but it has a d-pad instead of a digitial stick. I have the earlier one and the stick is really uncomfortable, especially seeing as you'll mostly be playing 2D games on it. You can get used to it after a while and it's mostly no problem but it's not perfect. (I can't even hadoken with it).

Other than that I'd say go for it. Gameboy, NES and Genesis are all perfect, aswell as older systems. SNES runs full speed but you might need a bit of frameskip and I think there's an option to overclock the system a little bit to make up the speed. Transparencies can slow down the game so it's best to turn them off (but that's okay for most games, I think). I haven't checked for updates with the SNES emulator for a while though, so they might have updated it.

Besides gaming, the mp3 player is decent. It's basic but it plays the music (and I guess that's all you really need). The divx player is good (but I don't really use it). I use recharchable batteries and I get a good few hours out of it (for only two batteries).
