Fredric Wertham=Jack ThompsonFor those of you who don't know Fredric Wertham was the man that started the whole Batman is gay thing with his 1954 book Seduction of the Innocent. he blamed comic books for America's youth acting out. Just goes to show you every generation has that nut job that blames the media.

I read about this in Stan Lee's autobiography. There's always someone out to "save" us.

This guy is right up there with Jack Thompson, and Peggy Charren for urinating on our favorite pass times. (Which is cartoons, comics, and games) It's never occurred to them that they're the ones who our corrupting our nation's youth by denying them a happy childhood filled with fun, and escapism.

I saw the Biography on A&E. Harlan Ellison said it best about that guy.
"He blamed everything. Television was making kids rotten. Comic books were making kids rotten. Chewing gum was making kids rotten. Whatever it was, he never had the sense to understand, that what was making kids rotten, was stupid parents"

What's interesting is that I heard later in his life he actually began to respect comic books as an art form.
