Family Guy Star WarsNot bad for a 'Star Wars' spoof, and a season opener. Definately tops last season's 'Back To The Future' spoof. The highlights here include...
-Title crawl mentioning spoilers to Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
-Darth Stewie playing Deal or No Deal
-Jawa Gray Poupon ad
-C-3PO doing an early 90’s printer
-Rush Limbaugh on Tatooine talk radio
-Luke asking London Symphony Orchestra to do the theme to the People’s Court
-Ad for Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Advertising Droids
-Lightsaber being used as a bug zapper
-Stormtroopers killing John Williams, with Luke killing replacement Danny Elfman
-Coach McGuirk, Bender, and Roger at the cantina
-Dr. Who opening as hyperspace
-Pimped-out TIE Fighter
-Atari's 'Asteroid' video game as the asteroid field
-The Death Star having a built-in mall (I was hoping for a three ring circus like in 'Spaceballs')
-Han Solo as a DJ on an adult contemporary station
-Obi Wan singing 'I've Had The Time Of My Life'
-Meg as the Trash Compactor monster
-Luke restoring Obi-Wan's lightsaber
-Artoo shooting TIE Fighter down with a handgun
-All the reds present (Including Red Foxx, Big Red Gum, and Simply Red)
-Porkins being too fat for the cockpit
-Peter and Chris discussing 'Robot Chicken'

I prefer the Robot Chicken Star Wars Special.
Family Guy just isn't funny.

Probably among my favorite Star Wars spoofs. They did a good job of keeping everybody in character while still portraying the Star Wars characters they were spoofing. Often I find parodies miss the mark in that aspect and end up making the show feel awkward. It also kept all of the style that makes Family Guy comedy great. Little things like the couch scenes get many hearty chuckles out of me. I love the way they found so many things to parody, like the music, music composer, characters, the actors who play the characters, and other Star Wars parodies (I loved the bit at the end where they talked about Robot Chicken).
Good episode overall and nice season premiere.

It's on youtube now in 5 parts. Let's see how long it takes Fox to have that pulled off the site. haha

Caught it on YouTube.
I didn't like it. There were a couple of good jokes but overall .. meh.
I think the best kind of parody creates jokes from the original source. There was plenty of material in Star Wars for that kind of humour. They could have really made something out of the Jedi Mind trick scene in Mos Eisley (or scenes like that). Instead they skipped that scene altogether. I understand that they had to cut it down time-wise but seriously, they spent about five minutes on that couch gag - which really wasn't funny at all.
Still, I think the best joke was the elevator music in the Death Star. I really did laugh out loud at that one.

I actually laughed a lot watching this thing, on YouTube, but they took it down yesterday! That was fast!

Told ya. Well, I saw it up a couple of times from a couple of different names. Don't tell me they cracked down on all of them?
Well, there's always Google Video, or Limewire, right?

Yeah, until Fox asked him to pull those links down...Damn you Murdoch...
Anywho, is this not getting old for anyone else? I love this episode, and I've been re-playing it obsessively and it's better every time!!
