Donate your unwanted games and movies to the show

It's hard to come by content for the show every month. So often, I would rely on Ebay for games or systems, sometimes movies, or TV shows.

I also thought there's probably some people who don't want to donate money to the show, and that's fine. I'm not too crazy about having my hand open, or a cup stretched out in front of you with just a few pennies and a button, asking you to "help a brutha out".

I came to a solution, and I'll be posting a video (hopefully) tonight to request donations of either video games, movies or TV shows (High quality VHS, if possible. If it's on DVD, even better. I'll show examples in the video).

Now, I wouldn't ask you to part with your Playstation 3, or your Super Smash Bros. Brawl, or Halo 6 3/4. If you do, however, have a game laying around that is collecting dust, but still works good. We'd love to review what you got on the show, and we will acknowledge your donation.

Currently, this is what I have.

Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Sega CD
Nintendo 64
X-Box
Playstation 2

Everything else is either emulated, or just more modern. Again, won't ask for your 360 or Wii games.

Let's suppose you have a classic system, like an Intellivision or some other retro gaming system that you don't play much of anymore, and you'd like to give to the show, that'd be great.

Now, granted, I know some of you wouldn't think of donating unless you were getting something out of this. The truth is, this is for people who want to support the show, and not worry about what they're going to get out of this (like money, or free stuff).

If you're considering donating a game, or movie, or whatever, it should be because you want to support the show without spending a dime (except on postage to send the donation to me, we'll work out a plan for giving out my mailing address later).

Thoughts? Ideas?

Sounds great. I think it would help, especially with your renting money.

Dude, I'm hooking you up with Barbie Horse Adventures!

Seriously, I'll keep an eye out for some bargains to send ya.

LOL Barbie Horse Adventures. Why not give me a bunch of Pokemon games, and enclose a loaded pistol. Wink

Great Idea.  Now you will have more to work with when deciding what to review on the show.  It also allows the fans to have some input on what you review.  Again great idea John

Here's the video to go with the donation thing.

Not sure if I have any games for you but I could probably hook you up with a few DVDs (a couple of rare movies and TV stuff). They'd mostly be illegal backups though.

I won't tell if you won't. Wink

Yeah, as long as what folks send me is the highest quality they got (as far as VHS, or DVD go), that's fine.

As long as it's clear. Look at Karate Kid. That was VHS converted to DVD, and the show was recorded off of TV. That came out fine. Same with that Solarman pilot we reviewed. Recorded off TV to VHS, converted to DVD.

I would say if there's certain VHS tapes, or DVD's you don't want to part with, but still want to help out the show, rip the DVD's and put them on a site somewhere, and I'll grab em.

My X-Box is modded (soft mod), so I'll accept downloaded X-Box games. I got a few already.

Even video game or movie related merchandise. Hell, if you got a Super Mario Bros movie action figure (saw some on Ebay) you don't want, send that, too.

Some people have asked if they'll be compensated. I'm sure with everyone, we'll come to some sort of arrangement.

From what I'm told, the Angry Video Game Nerd sends Thank You cards that have illustrations done by the same guy who makes his title cards for the show. Hehe

I've got about 200 CD copies of games (most with jewels/inserts) that I downloaded and burnt in college.

Only thing is, You'd need to make me ISO's of them all on a drive I'll provide to you.

Can't loose my stash.
