Don't you hate it when you don't save your game?

I was playing Twilight Princess. I'd finished it a few months ago but I wanted to play it a bit more, save up some money, get the magical armour etc.
So after collecting about 1000 rupees (not holding it all at once) and finally getting the armour I decide to save and leave the game for a while.
I was about to save over the wrong file so I cancelled it - and was sent to the title screen without saving my game at all.
It wasn't much work but it was a fair session and I'm not in the mood to go back and do it again.

I used to hate when in the old days of battery packed saved games, like Zelda 1 and 2, where you would save your game (I remember saving Zelda 2 after level 3 or 4, or something), and then come back to it later to find that it's GONE! I would get extremely upset at that.

I know exactly how you feel.
About a year ago I bought "A link to the past" on cartridge from eBay. The battery must be completely gone because my saves don't stay after I turn off the power. It's good to own on cart but It's completely useless unless I replace the battery or complete the game in one session (which could be fun, maybe?).

I am very OCD about saving due to the fact when I was 4 or something I deleted my dad's saved files.

On my first snes system I never had a problem with saving games. Then after my mother had broken it I had borrowed a friends. I would play for hours and save it turn it off and come back later. When I turned it on nothing was there. So I started playing again. My friend bumped the console while I was playing it and it did like a whole start over. Like I had turned it on for the first time, I was so mad. Thank Geeves that the one I have now is Great so far.
