Digital comic books -- The Future??

Well, after this, I think the Digital Comic Book Movement is in full swing.

What does everyone think?

For the last year or two I've been getting comic scans online (it's not exactly legal but I only get stuff I wouldn't normally buy and if I like it I will buy a real copy).
It's definitely not as bad reading from a computer as I thought it would be, especially if you have a laptop and a good reader.

I know why some people will resist it. It's good to have a physical copy, both for your collection and because that's what most people are used to reading. But overall, if all you want to do is read the stories (if you don't want a physical copy) and you're used to reading from a computer screen it's a good way to go.

Now Marvel and other companies are coming out with high quality versions of their comics online so now you get an extremely high-res scan in a digital format, which can be stored easily on a hard drive etc.

If you can get beyond the fact, that it's not a real comic, it's a really cool way to read the stories.

Yeah, I'm pretty damned excited about free, LEGAL digital comics from Warp Graphics, creators of ElfQuest and the recent GoComi webcomic, Masque of the Red Death.  They say they'll have EVERYTHING in their vast catalog up by the end of the year.  Maybe John can rant about that during an episode of VMTV.
