EA are offering a free download of the first Red Alert.
I was never a big RTS guy. I loved Age of Empires (but never really got far in it) and I've completed all the campaigns in Star Trek: Armada (allegedly a bad game as far as RTS's go but I enjoyed it) but besides that not much else.
I was usually put off by the difficulty. I'd always spend a long time (hours) building up my forces only to get wiped out in a few minutes. Still, I remember one of my best friends had this game back in the day and it looked great so I'm definitely going to try this one out.

Hmm, game originally came out in 1996. I don't think that qualifies as a classic.
Then again, I refer to reviews done on my old shows "classic". Guess it's something you gotta figure out. Heh.

I know. For a PC game it's certainly not classic.
But then again, I was probably still playing SNES in 96 and that would normally go in the in the classic section.

I actually just recently bought Command & Conquer: The First Decade for the PC. You get 12 C&C games for $40. It's a great deal IMO.
