Bill Maher- The Nerd Tax

I've referenced this on the forums so I thought I'd show you. He's right. If people weren't lined up to pay out the ass for the latest next-gen phone, mp3, computer, video game system, or whatever, then the price would start out a lot lower.

LMAO. Dayom, I gotta start watching this guy more. Hey, saw Drew Carey there, too.

ROFL $200 to spend on your imaginary girlfriend. Extremely funny!!! I love it!

Here's a more extended version on the above video.

Bill Maher rocks, dude. It's a great show cause he always has 3 different guest every week, some liberal, some conservative, and usually a comedian.

Tell me this airs on like HBO, cause no regular network would dare air this. I think the likes of ABC, NBC, and even FOX would be too scared to air this show, and take responsibility for what this guy says.

That said, I think this is an awesome show, and I'd love to see more of it. This and Howard Stern I should start getting into. hehe

Real Time with Bill Maher airs on HBO. This season ended about 2 months ago, but I've enjoyed this show for years. Don't know when the new season starts.

Dammit. Only get HBO in one part of the house. Don't think my grandfather wants to hear a lot of this political talk.

Seriously though. If I spot this on DVD, I'm there (assuming I can afford it then).

I love when people are able to come forward and tell it like it is. There's two people in my life that have been a great influence to me as far as being more outspoken.

First person, amazingly enough, is my Ex-Wife. Even before I married Jennifer, she always told it like it is, regardless of the consequences. Being around her for those 4 years we were together really had an impact on me. Her outspoken-ness (is that a word?) was something I admired about her. I never was with any other girl who ever said what was on her mind, and didn't give a shit what anyone else thought about her.

Second person I never met in real life, though would be honored to shake his hand and say Thank you. Just between all of us here on the forum, he's getting a DVD of Season 1 from me as my way of saying Thank you. His name is Shane Monroe. He runs a monthly radio show on the internet called Retro Gaming Radio. I first came across his show around 2001 or so. He played a good influence on my creating Video Masters Radio, though I didn't really start to be the outspoken person that I am until meeting Jennifer.

Shane has had this show since 1998, and always delivers with his intelligent editorials, and interesting facts about the video game industry, both classic and modern. Listening to him every month (or every other month, hehe) has also had a good impact on me. I then came to the conclusion that "It's ok to voice my displeasure in whatever entertainment industries exist, because of what they're doing. It's ok to be angry, if I choose to. Not bouncing off the wall, have a loaded shotgun ready angry, but angry enough that I can still speak to an audience in an intelligent manner, give the facts. Don't sugar coat or water down what you know. Be passionate, not nerdy."

I may never meet Mr. Monroe, or ever reunite with Jennifer. Hell, neither one of them may ever read this, and know how much they're appreciated. But it's basically because of them that you're not watching the same Video Masters from 12 years ago.
