My opinions of internet dwellers are the majority of them really know nothing at all, and when they pass accusation, it's with as little facts as possible.
On occasion, I've been called an Angry Video Game Nerd ripoff. I have to laugh because of how long I've been doing this gig. Granted, I wasn't as bitter back in VMTV's glory days. During the run of the radio show from 2002-2006, I became a bit more opinionated. For some reason, that makes me a ripoff.
I'm also not the first person to have an opinion, or be bitter about certain things, and I definitely will not be the last.
My message is to all people who refer to me as a ripoff of anybody. If you're going to attack all angry people, bitter, opinionated, or otherwise, the list is rather long.
Plan on launching an attack? Sending "ripoff" messages to these people. There are a lot of them out there.
If I were you, I'd get started.

I agree. You don't even come close to completely ripping off James 'AVGN' Rolff. Sure, you put down bad games, but you don't go over the top like he does. You have your own style as a host, and so does James.

Someone put it best, it seems that only James is allowed to review bad games, or just review games at all. I got people who leave comments about being a ripoff, and then when I tell them how long I've been doing this, they go "oh, well, I was just kidding. I did that for laughs".
The truth of the matter is everyone will borrow/ripoff/steal from someone else. Sometimes, the other party won't even be aware of it, other times, they're just trying to cash in on the fad.
James certainly has his place, and it's reviewing games from the past (as his theme song goes).
This guy is actually cool, though. He pays homage to the Nerd. Others do not, as if they are original.

I'm actually really suprised that you have been called a AVGN rip-off.
It seems like as soon as there is a guy reviewing a game an entire squad of AVGN-fanboys show up from nowhere starting to talk bullshit.

Funny thing is, I don't think James (The Nerd) is bothered by all the other reviewers out there, whether angry or calm. If he really thought Irate Gamer was a threat, don't you think he'd be pickin fights with him, or suing him in actual court? Not that Judge Judy or Judge Joe Brown, or any other TV court. I'm talkin actual court. No cameras, no circus.
I've said it before. People will rip off or borrow ideas from other people or other shows.
You wanna talk about rip-offs. When I first started doing these reviews in 1992-93, I totally ripped off of Gamepro, almost word for word. I hadn't developed a writing style just yet. I was 13 or 14 at the time.

Yeah exactly, I totally agree.
Gamepro? Not familiar with that :/
I guess that the whole videogame/home entertainment deal was a bit different back in the days here in Sweden compared to what it was like in the US.

You can hit up Youtube, and type in "Gamepro TV". They've got a couple of full episodes up. I miss that show, and wish they had a DVD, so I wouldn't have to watch it low quality online.
