Another NEW segment needs cool nameI'm working on a new mini-segment that shows viewers some cool stuff from the web. Examples are funny video game flash movies or parodies (like the SMB video done by Seth McFarlane), or websites, such as the one for Donkey Kong 2, etc. I think you get the idea.
So far, the one name I got is "Plug In". If you guys got something in mind, post here, or drop me a line.

Nice. Outstanding defensive plays in baseball are called "Web Gems". Might be a good name.
Or you could show a pic of Spiderman and call it "Web Swinging"!!
LOL I'm an idiot.

I thought of "Quick Plugs" or "Quickies".
Maybe we'll combine some names, like "Web Gems and Quickies".
Now who's the idiot?? LOL

"Gems, Quickies, and Plugs"
Isn't it funny the minute I send out a request for names that I get a burst of them from my own mind??
I'll still take names, cause I haven't thought of anything solid yet. I'm just tossing names out as they come..

That's pretty good, dude. Sounds like a skin flick set in the a jewelry store.

The Guys at 2P Start do something similar on their podcast.
http://www.2pstart.com/
They call it 'Internet Loot'. I kind of like the idea of thinking of it as treasure buried somewhere on the internet.
Can't think of any good names yet though ... not unless you want to blatantly rip them off and call it Internet Treasure.

Lots of people do something of this nature. I felt that there are so many little things and videos on the internet that I want to point people to, but have no segment (currently) that does this.
Retro Gaming Radio also does something similar. It's called "Bits n Bytes".
The trick is to not rip off other people's ideas. The idea came from someone asking me to give their site a quick plug. I found no room to just pop in and do that. Then I saw a video for Super Mario Bros done by Seth McFarlane. No room for that in the Spew, so I figured I should make a new segment to plug a few things here and there, and show viewers stuff they may not know about, or may be missing out on.

Disabled List? (I'm thinking of Baseball)

Another member suggested these:
Lurk'd (From the old term for a person who reads and watches websites, but rarely posts. The term "Lurker")
or
Crawler (as in kind of randomly exploring the web and finding something cool)
I like the idea of crawler, but don't want to limit the finds to just web stuff. Granted, many of these finds will have a website, but maybe if there's a book that I think is cool to check out, or something. Still working out the rest of the details, but maybe once we have the name, the concept will be more fleshed out.

What about Digital Treasures? I'm on a "digital" kick. It seems to work.

No wait, it's too common. All you have to do is Google it. Maybe another word for Treasure.

Digital Trove?? Sounds interesting. If no one knows what a trove is, that's where a tagline comes in handy. Something written below saying something like
"Monthly collection of internet and media discoveries"
Or something like that.

Damn, that's everywhere, too.
That's discouraging!

I think I got it.
Digital Dig.
It's not taken, though "Digital Digging" is, but that's ok. I think I like Digital Dig better.
I'm intrigued by the name, and will mark that down as a possibility for now.

I was gonna suggest 'funny bits', or 'game spoofs', but 'digital dig' sounds like a winner.

Then Digital Dig it is.

Digital Dig.
I like it.
It makes it sound almost archeological, like you're digging up stuff from the 'Old Internet'.
Actually if you want to look at the 'old internet' you could check out the original ascii Star Wars and the early memes from ancient times (Well ... the mid-90's). Alot of people weren't online then, so they're not so well known.
But actually, it's probably better to focus on current stuff.

It will be a mix of old and new stuff. Not too old, but not too new. For instance, if you're familiar with the flash movie "Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom", we'll feature that in this episode.
Little spoiler there. hehe

will this include 'All Your Base' renditions with videogame characters? Especially since i already did one, myself using sprites from the 'DuckTales' game for the NES.

Point me to it, and I'll take a look.
In the future, all submissions will more than likely be submitted via email.
