Ya know, I'm not a racist guy (in fact, I'm thrilled we got Obama in office), but isn't Will Smith bringing in enough money, to the point he and his family could swim in it?
I love Karate Kid, man. Don't screw with this franchise. At least call it something else other than Karate Kid. Think about it, a 10 year old being taught by some old guy, whether the mentor is 40, 50, or 60, ANYONE can take that the wrong way. Think Herbert from Family Guy, and you'll know what I'm talking about. You like popsicle, Daniel San? Got whole freezer full of popsicle. Mmmm. Wax On. Wax Off. Here, let me help you with that. Another classic franchise 'reinvented' for a new generation. (oh, joy.) It would be one thing if Smith created something more original, but this seems like another instance of Hollywood taking the easy way out by regurgitating the past.
