OK, since the begining of last season, some players have been wearing no. 42 in honor of the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson being the first black man allowed to play in MLB. A lot of those players are white. Apparently, that is offensive to the Angel's Torii Hunter:

He makes the point that the Houston Astros don't have any black players. That is incorrect. They have quite a few black players who refer to themselves as Latino. There are lots of black faces in baseball, just not African Americans. So apparently they don't count. I don't know of a better example of abject racism than what Torii Hunter is saying. It shows that a lot of African Americans haven't learned anything from Jackie Robinson.

I love baseball and consider myself a good student of the game. Jackie Robinson had to put up with more shit than any other player in baseball history. He was heckled, spiked, and spit on by the his opponents. Oh yeah, he was also one of the greatest players ever. But a white or latino player honoring him is racist? I can't imagine Mr. Robinson would agree.

Larry Doby became the first black player in the American League when he signed with my beloved Cleveland Indians. But if I wear a Larry Doby jersey or have a photo of him on my wall(which I do), I'm a racist? WTF?
