I want to see some anime be reviewed if you guys are into it. I recommend the first review to be either Magical Shopping Arcade Abanobashi (don't have a link) or FLCL http://vidsearch.myspace.com/inde...ids.individual&videoid=374152 _________________ I am me. Me am I. Am I me? Me I am.
Matt might have some anime movies, and we would like to expand to reviewing that, though personally, I don't think much of anime, but should I review an anime type movie, I'll try not to be biased.
The Golgo 13 movie, "The Professional", was done in Japan in 1983. We here in the US got to see it in 1992. That's anime, and we will be looking at that in Season 2. It's definitely on our list, for I have seen the movie. I'll save my comments for the actual review.
I think I'll tweak the name of this thread a bit, cause "Umm" could be anything. _________________ John R. Gibson

For some reason, I guess, seeing all of the other things that you're into; video games, classic animation, TV shows like Heroes -- I thought that you could potentially be a person that could get into anime. I didn't know that you already held an [apparently negative] opinion of it, though. Oh well...
Matt does seem to be a bit in on the Japan scene. From his reviews he seems to import a lot of things from Japan. He also seemed to know about Golgo, so perhaps anime is not a stranger to him.
I would love to do reviews of various things after I watch them for VMTV. I'm planning on doing video reviews for my website pretty soon. I've already begun work on one, but I won't be showing up on camera or anything because, well, I don't have a camera. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do reviews for both, and I'm pretty sure I don't meet your requirements anyway, as I don't have a camera. _________________
It's not that I have a negative opinion on anime. As I said, I saw Golgo 13 from start to finish, and while I want to reserve my opinions for the actual review, I have nothing negative to say about the film. It's hard to weed out the good anime films from the bad. Not to say we wouldn't review a bad anime flick, but if it's bad to the point where the story is incomprehensible, and none of us know what's happening, it's not going to be a good review.
Over the years, I've heard good things about Akira. Maybe I'll look at that sometime.
KT, as far as you not having a camera, that should hardly stop you from submitting material to the show. If you got a good microphone, and sound recording software, like Cool Edit Pro, or whatever, you're in business. Lately, some of our segments have become voiceover only, which should open up doors for people who want to submit stuff. Our newest section, "Mini-Review" is strictly voiceover. It's something for you all to think about.
I should be updating our rules and regulations anyway in preparation for Season 2, and that'll be one of the announcements in the first episode of the new season. _________________ John R. Gibson

I love the guy who does Castle in the Sky, Princess Monoke, and Spirited Away. Those movies are cool Japanese Fantasy (you know demons, flying machines, etc). For a more adult anime I love Blood the Last Vampire, Vampire Hunter D, and Vampire Hunter D : Bloodlust. The difference of Japanese Monsters and their Western counterparts is cool.
Thanks. Miyazaki is a superb anime cartoonist that creates unique fantasy worlds. Definately a must see if you want to watch some interesting Anime. Spirited Away was interesting and everytime it's on TV I watch it! _________________ Let's Croak some Toad!-Deadeye Duck
I also don't care for anime. I am in the minority among my oldest friends in this, but I find it boring, of generally poor quality, and have trouble relating to the stories. I did like Ninja Scroll because it didn't bog down in futuristic life-force babble.
