Quote:
Nickelodeon has announced the acquisition of the global rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise from the Mirage Group and 4Kids Entertainment. A new CGI animated TV series has begun development, with a scheduled premiere date in 2012, and Nickelodeon has also partnered with corporate sibling Paramount Pictures to develop a Turtles feature film which is also slated for 2012. The lucrative merchandising rights are included in the deal as well, and Nickelodeon will continue to work with its long-standing partner Playmates Toys on new Turtles toys.

I'm curious about this new Turtles Forever movie. The clip was on Youtube, but it was removed recently. I could have used that.

Maybe it's still around.

I hope they keep the turtles respectable. It's one of my favorite franchises.

The video that they had on Youtube (screw em for taking it down) had the 80's Turtles fighting mutant pizzas and mutant bananas.

Don't seem to recall that in the cartoon, do you? Weird characters, yes, they fought those. I just don't remember bananas.

It may be too early for an opinion, but I think this film was made by people who know that kids will watch this not caring about what the 80's Turtles were really like..in the 80's!

But we'll see what happens.

'Turtles Forever' was originally going to get a theatrical release at the end of October, but they decided not to at the last minute. I do recall the 'killer pizza' monsters from the original series, but not 'banana' monsters.

Plus the fact we're not getting the original voice actors. Something about rights, which brings up a response that I once said about TV shows on DVD that have Syndicated episodes, not original cut.

"If you can't pull it off, don't do it"

That's how I feel about this voice actor situation. If you can't get Rob Paulsen, Cam Clarke, Barry Gordon and Townsend Coleman to voice the Turtles, and especially fuckin Uncle Phil himself, James Avery, to voice Shredder, then you're kinda lying to us.

But that's just me.

(And yes, I know my voice actors....at least I think I do, haha)
