If I don't go see it, is Christian Bale gonna come scream at me?

He gives a different meaning to the term "child" actor. It can also mean a grown actor who throws temper tantrums like a child.

Oooooh, good one. You know this situation is bad when that except was used in a recent episode of 'Family Guy'. On a more serious note, I was kinda shocked to hear about Bale's outburst after such an amazing performance in 'The Dark Knight'. Now signing on to do this 'Terminator' sequel was bed enough given the reception from the last film, but i'm a bit concerned for Bale. Here's hoping this doesn't lead to more tirades.

Guess I should get familiar with the situation, cause I didn't catch the FG episode, so I don't know what exactly Bale did, or said, but have an idea.

Yeah, homeboy's a jackass. He may soon be on the list of actors who've hurt their careers by being assholes.

Chevy Chase, any one? Keifer Sutherland?

I do completely agree that nobody should speak to anyone else like that. There's definitely no excuse for behaving like that.

Even if he had a point, that's no way to make it. On a film set, he should have followed the chain of command properly (gone to the director or the AD) and done it reasonably.

But honestly, I do still have respect for him. I do believe that his apology was completely genuine. He accepts responsibility without hiding behind excuses.

Acting is more than just learning lines and saying them - it's the very exploration of emotions and the mind. Twisting yourself so that you become someone else (become a character) is really unnatural and can be deeply traumatising.
I can understand why this happened (Bale seems to go deeper than most actors). There is no excuse for this and I don't condone it but I can understand how it could happen.

Like I say, there's no justfiication for what he said but there is a rationalisation for it (a logical reason as to why it happened).

And I definitely give him respect for owning up. It doesn't seem like a canned apology (he's not trying to save his career) - I believe he is genuine about it.
