You know what really annoys me?
Multiple health bars in fighters.

I hate fighters where you have to essentially beat your opponent three or four times - first the yellow bar, then the green, then the red etc.

Why can't they just have one health bar that goes down three times as slow instead of having three separate health bars.

It might seem like a small thing but it really annoys me.

Street Fighter never needed anything like that.

It's like that in the old school beat-em-ups too. You bust your ass to finally get by a boss battle only to find he's got a second or THIRD health bar.

Dammit!!!

At least it makes sense in a beat-em-up. They need to emphasize how much more powerful the boss is than the other characters.

In a multiplayer fighter, it's just a trick to artificially extend the length of rounds. It adds nothing whatsoever to the fun of the game.
