This game gets so much crap from people and it doesn't deserve it. It was another one of those early 2D-to-3D transitions that a lot of people complain about, but I think this one turned out great. Sure, it's no Mario 64 but I still found it to be a great game. The story was good, the characters were awesome and the gameplay got the job done. It was just a lot of fun. I even liked Mega Man Legends 2 more than the first. The story is still left open at the end of 2 which was kind of a disappointment since there haven't been any more games in the series (a real shame), but apparently the creator hasn't written off the possibility of a new game in the series and, in fact, as of June 2007 still seems interested in creating one. I sure hope it happens some day since I'd love to play more. It's been 7 years since the last, but crazier things have happened.
I've never played it, but I have seen the game in action. I have to say I'm not crazy about certain 2D games being made into 3D. Sometimes it works, other times, no.
And that's all I have to say bout that.. _________________ John R. Gibson

I think this is one of those times that it works. It still feels like a Mega Man game, but at the same time it's very different, so in that sense it's a breath of fresh air after all the other MM games basically being the same thing game after game. If you get a chance, definitely give it a try. It gets the KT Seal of Approval™ from me.
I love the MM Legends series. It's one of the few instances where the 3D version of the game not being like the 2D versions actually works.
I consider it as more of an offshoot from the main series as opposed to the 3D version of the main series. It's Mega Man meets Zelda, and it stands just fine on it's own.
Yeah, it's another generation of Mega Man, like X and Battle Network. It's a magnificent game and it offers something different which is what most Mega Man fans scream for. I'm still crossing my fingers for a third and final installment to finish the story off. _________________
...this is a great game I own it for the N64 and the PSX, people didnt like it because it had mega man on it. If they were to change the name of the game and the character names, people would give it a better chance. _________________ Add stores to the map!

Apparently Legends is Keiji Inafune's (creator of Mega Man) favorite installment in the franchise and he really wants to do a third game but Capcom won't let him due to the fact that Legends 1 and 2 sold so poorly.
But I don't think hope is lost yet. We did get Mega Man 9 which was awesome, and I think downloadable content could be the perfect platform for a MM Legends 3. They could go the low budget route and give it PS1 or PS2 level graphics, maybe improve the gameplay a little bit and let it roll for 12 bucks or something. I know I'd buy it.
