Here are the movies I'm thinking of.

Iron Man

The Incredible Hulk

I wanted the review to be a modern movie, and both movies are from 2008. I'm itching to review one for February. The other will be reviewed before the season (3) is over.

Vote now! The voting will end Jan 31st (cause February is when I'd like to start filming, recording, etc)

I would say Ironman, unless you are looking for a copy of the original Hulk movie (by ang lee) but without all that flimsy flamsy cutting and editing, then Ironman is definatly the movie you should reward yourself by watching.

It has a great story, lines acting everything that makes it a great movie to see.

Nope, not that Hulk movie, or I would have put "Hulk" or maybe Ang Lee in parenthesis.

Ok, that's 1 vote for Iron-Man.

I know you mean the second one, and so do i.

Hulk is the same roaring beast as he was in Ang Lees movie, heck he even have fewer lines then in the Ang Lee movie

Hulk Smash!!! there thatīs all he says in the ENTIRE MOVIE.

Other then that its roaring and jumping and smashing stuff, just as he did in the first one.

He is a bit skinnier but thats that.

So in other words The Incredible Hulk is the bastard child of Ang Lees Hulk whit a twist of the old series, the original Hulk actor makes a camo appearance as a security guard and the original creation of hulk from the tv show is there too instead of the origin giving too him in the Ang Leeīs version.

the only real plus side is that this movie has a slightly more interesting boss battle then Ang Leeīs had, but other then that nope nothing worth of seeing in The Incredible Hulk.

Ang Lee still owes me 3 hours of my life back. How do you make a boring Incredible Hulk movie?

Haven't seen the new Hulk, but Ironman was surprisingly good.

By following Ang Leeīs recipe for a Hulk movie, but leaving out all the ohh iīve had a bad childhood and strange cutting (though i actually liked it).

Iīve take it that you have actually read a few Hulk comics.

Well who ever made this movie HASN`T, sure he might have skimmed loosely over the tv-series, but other then that this guy has ZERO experience whit Hulk.

Ironman was great because it was made by guys who actually CARED about Ironman, who really wanted to make a movie loyal to the universe.

Basically The Ironman movie is everything, The Incredible Hulk is NOT.

Apparently some people hasnīt understood the part of Hulk being a character like Frankenstein, a monster yes but one you actually feel pity about.

You're right in the comic series, over the past few years, they've developed the Hulk as a seperate character from Bruce Banner.

I dig it.

I liked 'The Incredible Hulk'.
It was a good take on the idea of Banner being a fugitive. I really liked the way he was living in South America (not really a spoiler) and Edward Norton was perfect casting.

Still, it was a fairly generic movie - introduce hero, develop villain origin story throughout movie, action, final showdown at the end etc.

I agree that it took more from the TV show than the comics. That's not really a bad thing though. The comics are good but maybe overly complicated - sometimes way too sci-fi for a general audience. The TV show simplified things a lot - Banner's a fugitive moving from place to place being hunted. That's a good angle and makes for a good story.

The movie could have (and probably should have) been better but it was definitely a step up from the Ang Lee version, which physically hurt to watch.

'Iron Man' is definitely the better movie. I've always been a big 'Iron Man' fan from back when I watched the 60's cartoon as a child (repeats - I'm not so old) to reading the comics. As a big fan, I was not disappointed (and I had really high expectations). It was definitely made with respect for the character and the story. They made updates (to the setting and some of the visual elements) but they never compromised anything. I'd say, it was even better than a lot of the 'Iron Man' comic stories (a lot of the 90's comics were fairly iffy).

Still, I think you should review 'The Incredible Hulk'. It's a lesser movie but it's more interesting to examine it. It's also more interesting because it's a second attempt at a more popular character (Iron Man was really an introduction - nobody in the mainstream public knew the character).
If you give it a fair trial you'll find a good movie - flawed but a solid representation of the Hulk.

Do look at both movies though. They are the first Marvel Studios movies and are the beginning of something big (leading to an Avengers movie). They are laying the foundation for a Marvel movie universe (similar to how all the characters in the comics occupy the same universe). That will have both good and bad effects on future movies.

I agree. Ang Lee's 'Hulk' movie was terrible, but 'The Incredible Hulk' blows it out of the water in my opinion. It mixes elements from both the comics, and the TV show very well, and my inner geek just squealed like a little girl when the big guy uttered 'HULK SMASH!' in the climax. As for which movie to review first, i'd go with 'Iron Man' first simply because it's one of best superhero movies from last year along with 'The Dark Knight'. However, 'The Incredible Hulk' should get a review as well simply because it's an 'apology' from Universal after Ang Lee's film left a bad taste in our mouths.

This new "do-over" mood in Hollywood is funny. That new Punisher flick is supposed to be an apology to the fans for the last one, too. That may cover the Hulk and Punisher but what about Daredevil?

I want a good Affleck-free Daredevil damnit!

I too hope for this.
Daredevil has a lot of potential, if it were ever to be done right.

At it's best Daredevil, could be similar to a good Batman movie - dark and more of a crime drama than a superhero movie.
But it wouldn't have to be a blatant immitation of the Batman style. Matt Murdock is a really unique character, more emotional than Batman. I'd really like to see him explored properly in a movie.

Hopefully the rights will revert back to Marvel soon and they can make it themselves properly.

Also, a good Daredevil movie could open the door for movies on some of the Daredevil-related characters - Iron Fist and Luke Cage etc.

Uh oh. TIE? When did this happen?

Maybe I'll hold off on the review for a while, let someone break the tie.

I'll find something else in the meantime.

Still a tie, huh?

Maybe I'll make a Youtube video for people to vote on. I'll do that after the Feb 09 show.
