I don't do a whole lot of forum stuff. Only post on two other forums, besides this one. But, I'm noticing a trend. Mainstream gamers are not welcome on VIDEO GAME forums.

I'll explain. On a PS2 board, I posted my entire collection of PS2 games just for fun. I was assailed by these game "collectors" and anime/rpg gamers for not having 37 rpg's and for not having imports. Now, I have over 80 PS2 games with a lot of variety. This was the response I got:

"What did you do clean out some bargain bins?"
"But I would rather give you a 2/10 because you lack plenty of quality j developer titles that I would actually spend my money on"
"you're actually missing quite a lot..."
"definitely quantity over quality"
"its so easy to collect junk"

I'm tired of people(mostly rpg/anime gamers) acting like the average gamer is some kind of moron. Sorry that Shadow Hearts: From the New World didn't set any sales records, but don't talk down to me cause I don't have it. I'm sure it's great but not many people will play it, ya know? The average NFL or NBA game outsells the average RPG 10 to 1. I'm sorry more people play Call of Duty than Doku Doku Happy Sunshine Panic 2(completely fictional j import. Nice, huh?) There's a very anti-mainstream gamer vibe coming from these anime/import/rpg elitists. I don't wanna pick fights, I just wanna talk about some games, man. Pisses me off.

I understand you, i like games as much as anyone, but that doesnīt mean that i will go out and buy every last fucking game out there.
If i want to buy a game, it has to mean something to me.

Well im with black flag on this, i buy a game to play them, not to let it sit on my mantle for all to see is warm glowing warming glow... still inside the plastic, and how does a game mean something to you, i buy a game to play it and then make my decision, maybe im old fashion but i never had a video game mean anything to me. ive heard of people liking games and maybe even quitting their jobs for a game (damn grand theft auto nerds) but i would never think of someone basically fall in love with a video game

When I say mean, i mean  they are games i want to play.

As such there are certain criteria they have to follow before i would even consider spending money on them.

Lets take EA Fifa series, well its football and that might be enough for some, but football doesnīt mean shit to me.
I find it boring and uninteresting, as such that particular game doesnīt mean shit to me, and i donīt buy it simple as that.

Then there is a game like Dawn of War well its a strategy game, okay i like strategy games.
Itīs warhammer i like warhammer.
There is a decent story, decent length even a decent system.

All in all a good game it means something to me i want to play it so i choose to buy it simple as that.
