I think this is messed up. I always liked EGM for being tough on their game reviews. They have 3 different reviewers for most games so to me they have the most unbiased format. I hate mags and sites that give good reviews to everything. Maybe this is why they're doing it:

Remember when Nintendo Power always had nice things to say about the games that usually ended up being horrible?

I'll admit, i've bought some games that have gotten bad reviews in the past. Some i agree with, some i don't. It's nice that we have sites that are critical of the many games that come out so that people are more informed on weather a game is good, or not. It's also best to rent the games first to see if you like them, or not because sometimes a game that get's a bad review might not actually be as bad as some people would have you believe. _________________ If it's got wings, i can crash it!
I don't know, I'm kinda an easy reviewer myself. I overlook the small things if the game is still fun to play.
I don't like when reviews nitpick over the little things, because I myself am not a nitpicker. To me, they're just games. If they're fun, then they're worth playing. If the problem doesn't kill the fun of the game then why dock the game points for it? _________________ http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom...18&owner=Umaro4&mode=vown
I nitpick over certain things, like reading 8 miles of dialogue in a game, like say Super Paper Mario. I skip over all that text, but as I said in the review, sometimes, there's important information sometimes in there, so you're always afraid you'll miss something.
That's something I complain about. I don't really complain about 8-bit sprite animation much. I am a child of the 80's and I understand the limitations of those games. I played them, nonetheless. _________________ John R. Gibson

Now EGM is going out of business. All VG mags will eventually follow. In the US, newspapers are struggling too.
Nothing can compete with the web. _________________ "One of God's own prototypes. Too weird to live, too rare to die." --Hunter S Thompson Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Keep in mind that even the web cannot provide 100% reliable information. At least newspapers have reporters, writers, etc. The web has blogs, and news on freakin Yahoo pages.
So that's our future, huh?
There's no use for print because people don't read. When kids buy magazines, they look at the pictures. That's one of the reasons why kids judge games based on screenshots. _________________ John R. Gibson
