Well just played it through the story is quite simple you are john separt the first human specter ever your mission is to hunt down the rouge Specter Saren, in the beginning it seems quite easy go after Saren and blast him to the end of the universe unfortunately it soon becomes clear that there is a lot more at stake here, then merely stopping Saren.

Mass effect is a RPG shooter game which means A LOT OF DIALOG fortunately it is not in text, unlike most games its dialog through and through all the game.

During the main story you can take on all kinds of side missions to increase your experience and level.

Unfortunately the side mission rather then being the strength of the game itīs actually more of its weakness since those missions quickly become A LOT of the same thing over and over again.

The main missions are great but like most modern day games they are far TOO quickly completed and whit only 6 main mission all in all you can almost complete the game in a few day or so.

So what about the replay value of the game, actually there is very little replay value in the game once you completed it, then thatīs basically it there isnīt much else to go by other then the first round.

So

Keep it, try it, toss it

I would say it a Try it.

sure the game is a lot of fun, but if you put it up against classics like Baldurs gate and Never Winter Nights, there is just not enough story to go by compared to those games to beat them.

I'm playing the game right now and am really enjoying it. Certainly unlike anything I've played to date. I agree with the side missions. There are WAY TOO MANY of them and most of the time you're resolving some other people's problems and they usually don't give you much for it.

But other than that, this game did what it set out to do very well.

I played through Mass Effect (haven't purchased the extra level yet off of Xbox Live!) and I loved it. At first, it was the game I'd always wanted to play, the game I'd always dreamed about playing. It felt like the perfect game where you have the freedom to wander a whole galaxy. And it is.

Unfortunately, like Erik and KT say here, the side missions are monotonous, graphically identical and pretty much a waste of space and time! Pun intended.

Mass Effect 2 will hopefully learn from it's predecessor and have way more in variety of dungeon look and feel.

I liked the aspect of the "love interest" they threw in the game, and how you could play a bastard to either or both, or try to get them both.

Thanks for the review Erik!!! Smile

Exactly at first the game is great you sit there drooling over it, and it really seems like the perfect game worth every bit of money.
The graphic is excellent, the voice acting is brilliant, its 110 kilometres at hour from the beginning, in short like a worthy successor to Baldurs gate.
But when you complete it youīre left whit a feeling (or at least I was) was that it......
Now it got exiting now it was beginning to get interesting and it ends.

The game is great no doubt about it, but it simply lacks content and it is FAR too quickly completed.

Even whit the extra mission (havenīt bought it either) it seems that it wonīt make much of a difference in the long run since it properly would be the same (from what iīve seen) go in kick the crap out of some bandits and your done.

Maybe I should do a Review on Baldurs gate 2 (would love for it to be live, but unfortunately I donīt have a camera or anything like that)

Mass Effect is definitely the first game I'll buy when I finally get a 360. It sounds pretty damn sweet.

Well a new trailer for Mass Effect 2 is out, i like the sound of it so far.

It not just well we couldnīt give a rats ass about what you did in the first game weīll decide what was "The right thing" to do.
No here you actually have to take then consciousnesses of what you did in the first game.
Sounds pretty sweet actually.
