Well, looks like i'll be going to the theaters even less than i ever imagined. (A 'Footloose' remake with Zac Effron?!? Shoot me!) At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if they did a remake of 'Cannonball Run' with Jack Black as 'Captain Chaos'. (I'll stop talking. Wouldn't want to give them any ideas.) It's unfortunate how Hollywood thinks that regurgitating the past is their safest bet these days, and let's be honest. Movies are expensive, and there's no telling if they'll ever make their money back. Especially if a movie bombs at the box office.

Remaking 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' is a bad idea.
Remaking 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' with Eddie Murphy should be a crime.

So many of these are my favourite movies - especially Short Circuit, Conan (ughh Brett Ratner?), Akira, The Thing, The Host, Rashomon and a few of the others. I hate to see this happen.

The only which might be a good idea is 'Forbidden Planet'. I still think it's a really bad idea but truthfully J.M. Stracyzski isn't a bad writer (his 'Spider-man' comics are about average but I did like Changling and some of his other work) so it might be okay (at best).

A 'Flash Gordon' remake might be interesting. (Well, if done right.) I wouldn't mind seeing a more serious take that's more along the line of the Filmation series. (The first season, anyway.)
